Vietnamese Language Training at the Amanda Knight Hall
January 9 - 20, 2017

Our time spent under the tutorship of the ten young Elders was amazing, They taught us of the culture of Vietnam as well as how to speak some basics in Vietnamese. Most of them were either from Vietnam or from America and had served there on their missions.
We began each session with prayer and felt the Lord bless us each day. By the end of the two weeks we could do basic greetings of conversation and had learned how to pray including thanking our Father in Heaven for ceratin things and asking him for His help in many of several areas.
The Spirit was so strong and we felt He was helping us to prepare to be with the wonderful people of Vietnam.

They were always inspiring us to be our best.

Our MTC experience was wonderful, full of new friends and experiences,
and lots of inspiration. We feel blessed to have this experience

The Monday before we left for our mission we toured welfare square with the other humanatarian missionaries and had a delicious lunch in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

During our humanitarian training we learned about the Church humantarian program and how to implement the programs we are responsible for. We want to remember our new friends and follow them on their missions around the world.

LANGUAGE TRAINING

We just completed our first week of  language immersion training at BYU. Elder Cameron Le Nguyen and eight other Vietnamese speaking elders have been so helpful and have taught us one on one. We are grateful and feel very blessed to have many good teachers.

During our first week we learned how to meet and greet people and have learned how to pray in Vietnamese. That is much more than we thought we would be able to do in a week. We have 4 more days of language training and then we are off to the MTC. GOOD STUFF!!!
